Board
Columns you name yourself, drag to reorder, and cards that move between them. The view you will keep open all day.
Local-first and offline by design: no signup, no board uploads, no sync. Four views, a timer on every card, and a desktop app for Windows.
Free. It opens straight into a board.
What's inside
Most tools make you choose between a board and a calendar and then keep two copies of the truth. Kaniban keeps one. It is a personal kanban board, built for one person's work rather than a team's, and every view below is the same cards, arranged differently.
Columns you name yourself, drag to reorder, and cards that move between them. The view you will keep open all day.
Drop a card on a day to reschedule it. Scroll the heading to travel by month or by year. Anything undated waits in a tray instead of disappearing.
Every dated card as a bar, packed into lanes that never collide, so a crowded week is obvious before you are standing in it.
Tracked hours as a heat grid, thirty-day trends, and how much runway is left before the due dates land. This board, or all of them at once.
Markdown notes written in place with no preview to toggle, an automatic ticket code
(LNCH-014) that never changes, tags, a due date, and a timer, so
time tracking lives on the card instead of in a second tool.
Ctrl K finds any card by title or ticket code, jumps between views and workspaces, or moves a result to another column without leaving the keyboard.
Your data
Kaniban is local-first: it saves your boards in this browser and lets you export them whenever you want. Paid features verify your purchase and browser registration with our licensing service. That check includes no board contents.
Pricing
Nothing is ever locked behind a payment that you have already written down. Your cards stay readable, exportable and yours on every tier. What you buy is more room and a quieter screen.
And focus mode, which shows one column at a time.
And a desk lamp effect that follows your cursor.
Questions
Yes. The free tier is $0 and stays free. It has the board and calendar views, two workspaces, and ads that are kept out of the work grid. Nothing you have already saved is ever locked behind a payment.
Your cards, notes, pictures and tracked time are saved in this browser. Kaniban never uploads board contents or syncs them to a server. Paid activation sends licence information to our licensing service; see the privacy policy for details.
Once the app is loaded, you can use your board without internet. Paid access checks online daily while used and continues offline for up to seven days after verification, or until the pass expires. Opening or reloading the site may require a connection.
No signup or password is needed to use the board. Paid access requires your licence key and a code sent to your purchase email. Your licence can register up to two browser profiles.
Export saves your boards in one file, and import brings them back on the other machine. This is available on every tier. Files contain no licence keys or access tokens; paid features on another browser need activation there.
Yes. On Windows, this page offers an installer and Kaniban runs as its own desktop app. In any modern browser you can also install it as an app from the address bar. Both work offline once loaded, and both keep the board on your machine.
Trello and most kanban apps are team tools: an account, a server copy of every board, and a subscription for the useful parts. Kaniban is a personal kanban board. There is no account and no server copy; the board is saved on your machine, exports to a file you keep, and the top tier is a one-time purchase.
Supporter starts at $3 for 30 days. It removes the ads and unlocks the timeline and summary views, five workspaces, and pictures and steps on cards. Plus is $10 once, forever, and adds unlimited workspaces, archive, column limits, card templates, auto-backup to a folder you choose, and a deeper summary. Each paid licence covers up to two named browser profiles. Approve registrations by email, then replace or revoke them from the app.

Open it, name a board, and start. If you do not like it, close the tab. You have not given anyone anything.
